On Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd April 2019 the VOLPOWER research team met at Erasmus University Rotterdam to discuss progress of the project to date and plan future action.
During the meeting discussions were held on the progress made so far, establishing links with local sports and arts organisations and identifying volunteers to take part in the project. Additionally, time was spent on planning our volunteer development event which will take place in Croatia in June 2019.
During the June event, volunteers will travel from each of the 7 partner countries to attend the week-long event which has the objective of empowering our volunteers and encouraging them to track their personal volunteering journeys.

Advisory Board Team
We were happy to be joined in Rotterdam by our Advisory Board members Aidan McGarry (Loughborough University), Itir Erhart (Bilgi University), George Thomson (Volunteer Scotland) and Oonagh Walsh (Glasgow Caledonian University).
The Advisory Board members have great experience in migrant integration initiatives, qualitative research and the voluntary sector. The combined expertise of the group was reflected in the recommendations and advice provided. VOLPOWER looks forward to working closely with the team as the project progresses.
Up to 40 volunteer leaders will attend training sessions in Glasgow.
